FAQly respects your privacy and is committed to handling data responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains what information FAQly collects, why it is collected, how it is used, and the choices available to merchants who use the app.
FAQly is a Shopify app that helps merchants create, organize, customize, and display frequently asked questions on their storefronts.
1. Information we collect
When you install or use FAQly, we may collect the following information:
Shopify store information
- Store name
- Shopify store domain
- Store identifier
- App installation and authorization details
- Shopify theme-related information required to display FAQ sections
- Product, collection, tag, vendor, and page information required to assign FAQs to the correct storefront pages
Information you provide through the app
- FAQ section titles
- Questions and answers
- FAQ assignment rules
- Display priority settings
- Accordion design and customization settings
- Other configuration information entered in FAQly
Technical information
We may collect limited technical information to operate, secure, and improve the app, such as:
- Error logs
- App activity logs
- Browser and device information
- Diagnostic information
- Timestamps and request metadata
Billing information
If you subscribe to a paid plan, billing is processed through Shopify. FAQly does not collect or store your payment-card details.
2. Customer data
FAQly is designed to display FAQs on storefront pages. It does not intentionally collect or store customer profiles, customer account details, order details, or payment information.
Merchants should avoid entering personal information, confidential information, or sensitive customer data into FAQ questions and answers.
3. How we use information
We use the information collected through FAQly to:
- Provide and maintain the app
- Display the correct FAQs on selected products, collections, and pages
- Save merchant preferences and storefront customization settings
- Support FAQ display logic and priority rules
- Process app subscriptions through Shopify
- Troubleshoot issues and respond to support requests
- Improve app performance, reliability, and security
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
4. How we share information
We do not sell merchant or customer data.
We may share limited information only when necessary:
- With service providers that help us host, maintain, secure, or support the app

- To protect the rights, security, and integrity of FAQly, our merchants, or others

Service providers are expected to process information only as needed to deliver their services.
5. Data retention
We retain information only for as long as needed to provide FAQly, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security.
When a merchant uninstalls FAQly, we may retain limited information for a reasonable period where required for legal, security, backup, or operational purposes. Data that is no longer required will be deleted or anonymized.

7. Data security

However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your information may be processed or stored in countries outside your location, depending on where our service providers operate. Where required, we take reasonable steps to protect information in accordance with applicable data-protection laws.
9. Children’s privacy
FAQly is intended for use by Shopify merchants and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

FAQly operates within the Shopify platform. Your use of Shopify is also subject to Shopify’s own policies and terms.
FAQly may rely on third-party service providers for hosting, infrastructure, monitoring, and support. Their processing activities are governed by their respective privacy terms where applicable.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are made, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or other appropriate channels.
