Set up your product FAQs with confidence.

Follow this step-by-step guide to create FAQ sections, assign them to the right products, and display a polished FAQ accordion on your Shopify storefront.

FAQly helps you add clear, product-specific questions and answers to your Shopify product pages. Complete the steps below in order, then preview your storefront to make sure everything is working correctly.

Start with your first FAQ section.

Getting started

Work through these six steps to publish your first FAQ accordion.

An FAQ section is a reusable group of questions and answers. You can assign the same section to one product or multiple products, so you do not need to repeat the same work.

  1. Open the FAQly app from your Shopify admin.
  2. From the FAQ Sections page, click Create FAQ Section.
  3. Enter a clear internal name, such as Shipping & Returns or Custom Sign FAQs.
  4. Keep the section active if you want it to appear on assigned product pages after setup.
Use a name that your team will recognize easily. The section name is for your dashboard and does not need to be shown to customers.

Inside your FAQ section, add the questions that customers commonly ask about the product. Keep each answer clear and easy to scan.

  1. Inside the section, click Add Question.
  2. Enter the customer-facing question, such as How long does production take?
  3. Write the answer you want shoppers to see on the product page.
  4. Repeat until the section covers the most common pre-purchase questions.
Keep answers short, practical, and easy to scan. Clear answers reduce hesitation during checkout.

FAQly only displays a section on the product pages you choose. This keeps your storefront content relevant and avoids showing unrelated questions.

  1. Open the assignment area inside your FAQ section.
  2. Choose the products, collections, vendor, or tags that should use this FAQ section.
  3. Save the assignment after confirming the correct targets.
If a product is not assigned, the FAQ accordion will not appear on that product page.

You only need to add the FAQly app block once for each product template where you want the accordion to appear.

  1. Go to Online Store → Themes in Shopify admin.
  2. Click Customize on the active theme.
  3. Open a product template, add the FAQly app block, and place it where you want the accordion to appear.
  4. Save the theme editor changes before leaving.
The FAQly block must be added to the product template before the storefront can show your questions.

Use the theme editor settings to make the accordion feel like a natural part of your storefront. Keep the style readable and consistent with your theme.

  1. Adjust colors, spacing, and typography inside the theme editor block settings.
  2. Match the FAQ style to the surrounding product-page design.
  3. Preview the result on desktop and mobile widths before publishing.
A subtle accordion style often performs best because it feels native to the rest of the product page.

Open one of the products you assigned in Step 3 and review the customer experience from beginning to end.

  1. Open a product page that should display the assigned FAQ section.
  2. Expand each question and verify the answers look correct.
  3. If the FAQ is missing, check both the assignment and the app-block placement.
If you make changes and do not see them right away, refresh the preview and reopen the assigned product page.

Troubleshooting

Start with these common checks if your FAQ accordion is not showing correctly.

FAQs are not showing on the product page

Confirm that the FAQly app block has been added to the correct product template in the Shopify theme editor.

The block appears, but there are no questions

Make sure the FAQ section is active and that the product you are previewing has been assigned to that section.

My latest changes are not visible

Save your changes in FAQly and in the theme editor. Then refresh the storefront preview and open the assigned product again.
